Heat Pump Field Validation Partnership

The Heat Pump/Heat Pump Water Heater Field Validation Partnership is a Department of Energy (DOE) effort focused on making heat pump and heat pump water heater technologies more widely adopted. This project strives to overcome the barriers that are preventing the adoption of these technologies and help these energy-efficient and emissions-reduction solutions become more widespread. The Partnership entails (1) establishing core committees (Late-Stage Research Development and Demonstration, Building Integration Barriers, Workforce Development, and Regional Market and Policy), (2) identifying challenges, and addressing those challenges.

As part of the overarching effort, Hummingbird plays a crucial role in providing input on paths forward and coordinating stakeholder engagement. By gathering diverse perspectives and insights and centering equity throughout the process, the project ensures that plans and documents are robust and representative of industry and community needs. Embracing diverse viewpoints is essential in addressing various challenges and fostering innovation, ultimately accelerating the widespread adoption of heat pump and heat pump water heater technologies. The information synthesized through this outreach is used to facilitate effective communication with the Department of Energy, enhancing collaboration and enabling the exchange of valuable lessons learned.
